Why Write About Your Life?

We have noticed that one of the most rewarding aspects of what we do is seeing the joy on family member’s faces when one of our authors share their life, or an aspect of their life, in a book. One of the things we find is that many people don’t opt to share their life in a book because the thought of doing so is just so overwhelming that they don’t know where to begin. That’s why we wanted to share this Blog with you today.

If you think about it, our life can be divided into a number of categories, including, but not limited to:

  • Our Family and Friends

  • The houses we have lived in

  • The cars we have owned

  • The jobs we have worked at

  • The churches we have attended

  • The Movies/Music we have enjoyed

  • The hobbies we have pursued

  • The pets we have had loved

  • The Journeys/Trips/Vocations we have taken

As a result, from this information we find that:

  1. The above makes and excellent Table of Contents for a Biography.

  2. Anyone of these makes a wonderful topic for a stand-alone book!

Another route to take in regard to writing a book is to decide to share your expertise in any given area. These areas could be found in:

  • Your Vocation

  • Your Avocation

  • Your Experience as:

    • A Parent

    • A Volunteer

    • A Handyman

    • A Chef/Cook/Baker

The most important thing to remember is if you want to write a book there will be those who will be ready and willing to read it. Not enough, perhaps, to make publishing your book an economically viable undertaking, but it certainly will bring those smiles of joys we mentioned earlier, and, believe me, that is well worth the investment involved in itself!
